Ahmad Al-Dabagh

I’m Ahmad, an Iraqi-Australian photographer and creative based in Sydney.
My fascination with photography began at a very young age experimenting with disposable cameras. Photography to me is a mode of expression, a portal in time and a way for me to convey my stories visually. I was born in Baghdad, Iraq and this instilled within me a love for culture, history and exploration. When I began documenting my travels online, I saw that my photography had the potential to transport viewers into the scene and spark within them a sense of wanderlust. My work aims to showcase surreal natural landscapes, unique destinations and cinematic scenery from a by-gone era. My recently acquired Konica Autoreflex TC from the 70’s has reignited my love for film photography and the art of spontaneity. A good photograph will speak to you, alter your consciousness and leave you in a state of contemplation.
